I’m looking for a full-feature up-to-date OpenGL viewer binary for win32/64 or OSX. What happened to the Feeling Software stuff? It seems they have hidden or withdrawn any information about any standalone viewer. The last one posted here is v 1.3.
When I originally looked at the COLLADA stuff it seemed a viewer would be a piece of cake but the more I look the less I see. I’d rather pay a bit for a small commercial viewer that works RIGHT NOW than waste time trying to get the DOM stuff to compile with N different dependencies – I’ve read some of the other threads. That’s a waste of my time, my users don’t pay me for that. So far I’ve spent a notable fraction of the time I’ve spent developing my exporter looking for correct up-to-date representative sample files and viewer. I’d like to get this to work but, hey, there are a lot of other fish to fry too.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I did look through the products directory. It’s a little tough, I might have missed something — it sure would be nice if there was a column that said what each one was. I clicked through on many of the ones I wasn’t familiar with, mostly they are game engines, modeling apps, or general 3D animation apps that happen to have some COLLADA capability.
The glc_player does not handle animation, it is only for modeling. It does not display my texturing, if I can’t find anything better maybe I’ll try to see whether it is me or it.
I did download the COLLADA 2.2 Viewer also: http://sourceforge.net/projects/collada … 6/download It does not process common-profile material specifications, requiring Cg profile which I do not (and do not wish to) generate. It seems to have a number of limitations, but at least it does properly replay my camera animation.
Apparently Feeling Software is willing to license their viewer at $2500 per seat; I sympathize with their desire to make some money from it but that is unrealistic.
