OpenGL 1.2/1.3/2.0

Hi! I’m just a beginner, and am learning OpenGL under MS Windows 98…I know that Microsoft implements OpenGL 1.1, how do I use OpenGL 1.2/1.3 features??? I think I know that I have to use extensions? Is it worth it to learn the extensions??? I’ve tried reading the 1.2 and 1.3 specs, but didn’t understand even half of it…so i’m askin, is it just ok to learn OpenGL 1.1 only??? or am I missing a big functionality by just knowing OpenGL 1.1? Thanks.

As a beginner, you will get VERY far with 1.1. As a beginner, you won’y miss anything important.
