Full speed texture layers on GeforceFX

I am confused about specs. How many texture layers can be rendered with a GeforceFx5800 at full speed ?

When using legacy ARB_multitexture it should be able to render 8 but I am not sure.

When using NV_fragment_program, you should be able to put 16 textures on a single polygon however, only 8 have texcoords and texgen… no wait… boh, i don’t remember.
