This is NOT off-topic : )

After seeing some real funny off-topic questions …and some way cool answers like …
“OpenGL stands for … and not for Open
Dish Washer …”

well let´s be creative and post some waaaay off-topic things just for fun

First One

Hey People …how can i implement an automatic Pizza Slicer in OpenGL ??

can i use some OpenGL for collision detection between the slicer arm and the pizza … do you think that fragment programs will do any good for the correct renderization and real-time visualization of Pizza ?
Ohh of course …can i use the OpenGL for playing the sounds and do the Joystick control ??

After some time we could vote about the most creative idea. Here is my entry

My computer is slow because my harddrive is fragmented. I read about arb_fragment_program and I think it may solve my problem. Can anyone help?

I already searched google and found nothing. Full source code of the solution including instructions how to compile would be nice.

yeah, that’s cool :wink:

here’s mine:
can you give me some advice on how to code a doom3-like engine? i’ve just started learning HTML and i heard that john carmack was coding with this OpenGL thing. where can i download it?

or this one:
my monitor is reflecting a lot of sunlight. i tried to fix that by using OpenGL pixel shaders all over the screen but it doesn’t seem to make any differences. suggestions?

How do I use glReadPixels() to read things that I draw on the monitor with a marker?

This is an advanced question

How do I get OpenGL to load md3 models?

It’s obvious…

glLoadMD3(filename);

I searched about rendering virtual worlds in OpenGL and I found the glLoadMatrix command.
I’ve tried to call glReloadMatrix(GL_REVOLUTION) but nothing happens. Please help !

Maybe you forgot to call glMatrixMode (GL_VIRTUAL_WORLD_PROJECTION);

// enjoy OpenGL!
glEnable(GL_DONT_GET_TIRED);
glEnable(GL_DONT_GET_HUNGRY);
glEnable(GL_DONT_NEED_SLEEP);
#ifdef student
glEnable(GL_DONT_NEED_TO_GO_TO_SCHOOL);
#else
glEnable(GL_DONT_NEED_TO_GO_TO_WORK);
#endif
glEnable(GL_DONT_MAKE_MISTAKES);
// GL_DOES_MAKE_FUN is in the core OpenGL since v1.1;

Or even better
glEnableClientState(GL_I_HAVE_VERY_BIG_GUN);
glEnableClientState(GL_I_AM_FASTER_THEN_THEY_ARE);

Nah… He forgot to reload the matrix : glLoadMatrix(GL_MATRIX_RELOADED_HINT, GL_TRUE);

glHint(GL_DONT_HAVE_A_CLUE);

glBegin(GL_BORED_UNCREATIVE_TIMEWASTERS);
//glEnd();

cue sound of toilet flush

I wasn’t going to contribute but…

This is the kinda crap that should win the most votes…

How about
glPush(GL_THIS_DAMN_THREAD);
glFlush;

No, it’s great to see you guys go creative. Please go on…

The following will be available in GL2:

glEnable(GL_CODING_ADVANCED_POST, GL_OFF_TOPIC);
glHint(GL_ALL_MY_PROBLEMS_SOLVED);

glFinish(GL_STUPID_THREAD);

Y.

glGetString(GL_EXTENSIONS);
call can not be executed, reason: out of RAM
