OpenMAX IL

Hi,

I wanted to know whether a Multimedia Framework is necessary for my proprietary codec to be made OpenMAX compliant. Is this framework provided by OpenMAX or the programmer has to implement the same.

Thanks in advance…

Hi,
now most of the codec vendors are providing the omx complaint codecs. its advisable to have ur codec omx complaint. omx provides the guidelines and APIs. developer has to implemen the same.

No, a multimedia framework is not required. Other than porting the conformance tests to your platform and implementing an IL core (a sample implementation of which exists), you don’t need any other software to test your components. Compliance can only be claimed after the test logs have been reviewed and approved by the OpenMAX IL working group.

Thanks,
