I know this isnt exactly inline with this forums topic of discussion but I didnt know anywhere else to turn. There seems to be a great lack of support for the end user. Im trying to get a game called Americas Army working and ran into a few problems. I first installed it on my mothers computer and attempted to open it in linux using wine but got a critical runtime error, something about the application requesting that the runtime close it in an unexpected way. Spent hrs trying to resolve that issue to no avail so I decided to run it in windows. It loaded but the writing and screen is all screwie like its being streaked or something. Its very hard to read and so I cant adjust the settings without knowing what it say’s. Thats when I decided to install it on my other computer so I could use that as a reference for what I was clicking on in the other computer. Yet more problems, the program said that I had to enable direct3d acceleration from dxdiag but since I didnt have the drivers for my video card installed, I couldnt do that. So, I downloaded and installed the drivers from my manufacturers website. Trio3D/2X (362/368) Then when I tried the game, it started to load and then rebooted my computer. I then updated the game to the latest version as I also have on the other computer and it then instead of crashing my computer, said that it couldnt find a proper screen mode or something like that. I quickly realised that the drivers for my card were not good enough so I uninstalled them hoping that it would now work with the latest update of the game I have available to me. I then got the same direct3d problem again. It was then that I noticed that direct draw was in dxdiag and that prompted me to thinking about OpenGL which is also supported by the game. I enabled it in the .ini file but it said it couldnt find the driver. Thats when I started searching the net for an OpenGL download, and to my suprise, the only download I could find was for the developers kit. Can someone help me please, im really ripping my hair out. 2 computers and neither of them can play this one game. My video card is as follows.
