Suse7.1 and GF2

I have just installed Suse7.1 (default installation) on my computer. I use KDE2 and my graphics card is a geforce2 gts. Everything works great except for opengl hardware acceleration. For testing I use the kde2 gl based screen savers. When freshly installed, the gl progs works fine, but it is also software rendering. I have tried to install the latest drivers from nvidia, but then the gl programs just crashes when started.

Can someone give me a precise, step by step, help to make this work, eg. what to do after having freshly installed suse linux 7,1 ?.

I’m a novice with Linux!

I also got a crash when using agp so you can try to disable it in XF86Config:
Option “NvAGP” “0”

I do not know about suse but check if you have the latest version of XFree86. Here is some help not suse specific: http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/mini/Nvidia-OpenGL-Configuration/index.html http://www.ia.net/~vorobei/linux/install.htm
