intel support for open cl

which hardware of intel support open cl
does intel pentium4 or pentium d support ??
xeon ?? pls tell

Maybe it’s none of CPU’s business

OpenCL
requires one of the following graphics cards or graphics processors:

NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, GeForce 9600M GT, GeForce 8600M GT, GeForce GT 120, GeForce GT 130, GeForce GTX 285, GeForce 8800 GT, GeForce 8800 GS, Quadro FX 4800, Quadro FX5600
ATI Radeon HD 4670, ATI Radeon HD 4850, Radeon HD 4870

The answer depends entirely on who is implementing the software. AMD’s CPU implementation supports some Intel CPUs (I think you need SSSE3 or later, but I’m not sure). Apple’s implementation supports all the Intel CPUs they’ve shipped. Intel hasn’t released one yet so no one knows what they will support.

For the AMD-Driver every CPU supporting SSE3 is supported. You don’t need a supported graphics card.
Didn’t try that for the Nvidia-Driver but I think it is the same.

NVIDIA doesnt have a cpu implementation of OpenCL, I have tried this with latest NV195.x drivers

As your likely not the only one wanting a cpu implementation there might be hope that NVIDIA will
follow AMD and provide a decent cpu implementation.

Intel recently announced it’s OpenCL implementation:

I think they don’t support Mac because Apple has it’s own implementation.
