I'm very new to OpenGL, I'm trying to work out if it's possible to use a .w3d file (used in Adobe director / shockwave) to import the 3d mesh data into OpenGL.

I have found many conversion tools to go from various formats to .w3d, but none to go from .w3d to something else such as collada (.dae).

This may not be possible I guess the .w3d file is created in a way that only adobe software can open, but can anyone tell me if there's a way of doing this?
