I wonder if someone could share a bit on the topic of creating models (to be used in OpenGL) using some modeling tool.
I tried Blender to create some simple stuff and wrote a wave-front parser. I spent some days on this, but Blender is quite complicated. Maybe I just need to put more time into it…
Is this the way forward? Is it possible to configure blender to export directly into a custom format? How does Collada come into the picture?
What are my options? I feel a bit lost here and would appreciate some guidance.
